In a fastener stringer (10, 50), a continuous fastener element (20) extends in the length direction of a monofilament (30). The fastener stringer (10, 50) comprises: a plurality of fine protruding parts (31) disposed on the peripheral surface of the monofilament (30); and a plurality of fine recessed parts (32) disposed between the protruding parts (31). In the cross section of the monofilament (30), the cross-sectional areas of space regions of the recessed parts (32) are set to be greater than the cross-sectional areas of the protruding parts (31). Thus, uneven dyeing and dyeing defects can be prevented when a dyeing process such as a beam dyeing process or a continuous dyeing process is performed, while the strength of the monofilament (30) is appropriately ensured. In addition, when a coloring process is performed by an inkjet method, a desired pattern having a clear outline can be beautifully formed on the fastener element (20). |
