The present invention relates to a process for preparing carboxylic esters, comprising the process steps of: a) providing a carboxylic acid-containing component and an alcohol; b) contacting the carboxylic acid-containing component and the alcohol in a container for conversion to carboxylic esters by esterification or transesterification, characterized in that during the esterification or transesterification the container is moved over a distance of at least 1 kilometre.
