A lamp (10) having a substantially hollow columnar body (12). A plurality of light emitting diodes (16) are disposed on the columnar body (12). A plurality of fins (18) are also disposed on the columnar body (12). A base member (24) is included at a first end of the columnar body (12) and provides a means for electrical connection. An electronics module (22) is included within the columnar body (12) communication with the base member (24) for converting AC current to DC current.
