PURPOSE: An optical device is provided to split light into two or more kinds of light with different polarizing status. CONSTITUTION: An optical device(1) includes a polarizer(12) and a liquid crystal layer(13) which are adhered with each other by an adhesive layer(11). The adhesive layer includes an active energy beam curable adhesive composite. The active energy beam curable adhesive composite includes a radical polymer compound with hydroxy group and cation polymer compound. A refraction index difference between a ground axis and a leading axis is 0.05 to 0.2 in the liquid crystal layer. The thickness of the liquid crystal layer is 0.5 to 2.0 micrometer.
