When a system that performs WiFi communication has a plurality of terminals, the terminals communicate with a base station at conflicting timings, transmission of data is delayed for long periods, or the startup time for terminal reception units is lengthened and power efficiency is poor. In the present invention, a DECT communication unit and a WiFi communication unit are both provided to each base station, one of a plurality of base stations is designated as a master base station, a control signal sent by the DECT communication unit of the master base station synchronizes the timing of DECT communication of each base station, and each base station performs timer correction for the WiFi communication unit according to timer information presented by the DECT control signal. Each terminal can thereby accurately predict the transmission timing of a WiFi beacon generated by each terminal, and the time for reception operation can be limited to the shortest necessary time.
