PURPOSE: An emergency state sensing method and an apparatus thereof in a wireless communication system are provided to sense an emergency state such as core network disconnection in a short time. CONSTITUTION: In an emergency call signal is received, a serving BS(Base Station) senses an emergency state(305,307). In case a handover request message is received, the serving BS transmits a handover command message to a terminal which requests handover(311,315). In case the handover request message is not received, the serving BS searches for a terminal of a cell edge(313).
