Provided is a method for analyzing particulates in real time while continuously recovering and concentrating the particulates. Gas and/or particulates of matter to be detected that is attached to an object to be authenticated (2) are detached by an air stream from an air supply unit (5), a detached sample is sucked in, and concentrated and trapped by a particulate trap unit (10), and ions of the sample are generated by an ion source unit (21) and subjected to mass analysis by a mass analysis unit (23). By determining the presence or absence of a mass spectrum derived from the matter to be detected from obtained mass spectra and displaying the result thereof on a display unit (27), the matter to be detected that is attached to the object to be authenticated (2) is continuously detected rapidly in real time with small number of erroneous reports.
