<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering lock device which can secure extraction operability of a lock member in unlocking operation, without causing the occurrence of naturally extracting the lock member from a locking recessed part in locking. <P>SOLUTION: A lock bar 7 of the steering lock device 3 is formed as a double structure of a bar body 12 and a pair of movable pieces 13a and 13b. The movable pieces 13a and 13b take an installation structure of inserting a pin 18 into a long hole 17, and can rotate and linearly move to the bar body 12. In the unlocking operation in a state of adding tire reaction to the movable piece 13a, the bar body 12 and the movable piece 13b separate in the first place from the locking recessed part 8. At this time, the movable piece 13a existing in a biting-in state with a projection part 10, loses a support by the bar body 12, and are pulled up by energizing force of an unlocking side energizing member 19 while rotating around the pin 18.
