<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag that can be manufactured at low cost, stably and quickly inflates, and effectively prevents an occupant from being thrown out of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of vertical cells 37 are provided to be expanded downward by an inflation gas G flowing from an inflator connection 33. Horizontal cells 53 having a longitudinal direction perpendicular to the vertical cells 37 are disposed to overlap the vertical cells 37. The vertical cells 37 and the horizontal cells 53 are connected via vent holes 59, respectively, to guide part of the inflation gas G flowing into the vertical cells 37 to the horizontal cells 53. The peak pressure of the inflation gas G is suppressed to manufacture the airbag at low cost without any reinforcement with respect to pressure concentration. The inflation gas G is guided from the vertical cells 37 to the horizontal cells 53 to enable stable and quick expansion. The shape is stably kept by expanding the vertical and horizontal cells 37 and 53, while effectively preventing an occupant from being thrown out of the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
