<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a degree of similarity calculated for a plurality of images of which the mutual deviation is non-uniform within the images. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes capturing means which captures first and second images, production means which produces image data of a derivative image obtained by locally deforming the second image in a plurality of portions, and calculation means which calculates a degree of similarity between the first and second images through pattern matching arithmetic operation, based on image data, between the first image and the derivative image. The production means then includes, when a concerned pixel of the first image, a corresponding pixel of the second image and a derivative corresponding pixel of the derivative image are defined as pixels of which pixel coordinates are corresponding to one another, means which sets to the concerned pixel an inclusive region spatially including the corresponding pixel in the second image and pixel value acquisition means which performs acquisition processing of a pixel value of the derivative corresponding pixel on the basis of a degree of matching between a pixel value of the concerned pixel and pixel values of a plurality of pixels in the inclusive region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
