<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that prevents deterioration of an elastic part of a transfer belt while reducing image defects. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises: a transfer belt 40 for carrying an image; a belt roller 41 on which the transfer belt 40 is wounded; a secondary transfer roller 61 having a recess formed on its circumference, which comes in contact with or separates from the transfer belt 40 by rotation and forms an abutment nip that comes in contact with the belt roller 41 via the transfer belt 40 and a contact nip to be formed by contact with the transfer belt 40 not wound on the belt roller 41; and a positioning unit that determines the position of the secondary transfer roller 61 and the belt roller 41 so that an edge of the recess comes in contact with the transfer belt 40 in the position where the transfer belt 40 is wound on the belt roller 41 when the edge of the recess comes in contact with the belt by rotation of the secondary transfer roller 61. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
