<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment solution for inkjet recording which is able to improve optical density (OD value) of recording image and excellent in storage stability. <P>SOLUTION: The treatment solution for inkjet recording contains a quaternary alkylammonium salt expressed in general formula (1) and water. In the general formula (1), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>means the alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms respectively and R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>may be the same or different mutually. R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>is the alkyl group with 8-16 carbon atoms. The alkyl group of R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>may have substituent and be straight chain or branched chain.
