<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "horizontal-stripe" fuel battery cell capable of preventing the generation of cracks in a dense dielectric covering a lateral end of a support substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A power generation element part A comprising an inner electrode, a solid electrolyte and an outer electrode is provided at each of a plurality of positions on a principal surface of a flat plate-like porous support substrate 10 having gas channels 11 formed internally along a longitudinal direction. The inner electrode of one of the adjacent power generation element parts is electrically connected to the outer electrode of the other power generation element part. A gas seal part for preventing the mixture of two types of gas respectively supplied to the inner and outer electrodes has a dense "dielectric" (solid electrolyte membrane 40) which covers a lateral end extending along the longitudinal direction of the support substrate. The following relationship holds true: 1≤T2/T1≤300, where T1 represents a thickness of the "dielectric" corresponding to an end of the "dielectric" in a plate thickness direction of the support substrate 10 and T2 represents the maximum thickness of the "dielectric" corresponding to a lateral face of the lateral end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
