<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a compound that binds to P-Selectin Glycoprotein 1 (PSGL-1) on the surface of T cells or natural killer (NK) cells to be used to induce T cell or NK cell depletion and/or to induce T cell or NK cell apoptosis, and to enable the compound and a method to be used to control unwanted T cell- or NK cell-mediated immune responses in conditions such as autoimmune diseases, transplant rejection, and allergic diseases. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for preventing or inhibiting T cell-mediated immune response in an individual, T cell-mediated immune response in an individual can be prevented or inhibited by administering to the individual, a compound binding to PSGL-1 on the surface of T cells, that selects an individual diagnosed to have a symptom having a characteristic of excessive or unwanted T cell-mediated immune response or to have a risk of having such a symptom, and that induces a signal transmission route in which binding of the compound to P-Selectin Glycoprotein ligand 1 (PSGL-1) on the surface of T cells kills T cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
