<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a filtering process of optional e-mails without using a folder function or a secret function. <P>SOLUTION: A list of e-mails is displayed on a display unit (A and D). E-mails are selected from the list of e-mails displayed on the display unit. Then, a menu including at least either a process item for setting flags in the selected e-mails or a process item for displaying only e-mails with set flag on the display unit is displayed on the display unit (B and E). After that, when the process item for setting flags is selected from the menu (B), flags are set in the selected e-mails.
