METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ORGANIC EL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device capable of suppressing deterioration due to moisture, and a method for manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: An organic EL device comprises: an insulation substrate; a pixel electrode disposed over the insulation substrate; an organic layer disposed on the pixel electrode; a counter electrode disposed on the organic layer; at least one of a first recess lacking the organic layer and the counter electrode on the pixel electrode and a second recess lacking the counter electrode on the organic layer; and a protective film covering the counter electrode and at least one of the first recess and the second recess.
