<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus that can maintain stable fixation responsiveness. <P>SOLUTION: Both of a roller 40-3 and a pressure roller 42 are made of a soft material to constitute a nip so that the shape of the nip becomes flat. The flatness of the shape of a medium P when passing through the nip is maintained, regardless of thickness and stiffness of the medium P held by the roller 40-3 and the pressure roller 42 opposed to each other via a belt member 40-1 so as to have the flat shape of the nip. Accordingly, a stable nip condition, that is, nip pressure and a nip width W become constant, thereby fixing application quantity of a bubble-like fixer because the nip condition is constant to make fixation responsiveness constant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
