<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern recognition method by an RT method that is capable of improving discrimination capability of pattern recognition while suppressing lack of information and applicable to multiple value discreteness amount and continuous amount of data. <P>SOLUTION: A pattern recognition method discriminates whether discrimination object data belongs to a unit space composed of a plurality of sample data or not. A plurality of items defining the sample data and the discrimination object data are compressed by a linear expression having a coefficient and an intercept into a mean value m, sensitivity β, and a standard SN ratio η.
