<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system capable of detecting an output failure of a high-power supply device by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power steering system includes the power supply device 20, and a power supply management section 30 for controlling an operation of the power supply device 20. The power supply device 20 comprises a main power supply 17, an auxiliary power supply 18 that is serially connected to the main power supply 17, and a booster circuit 33 for charging the auxiliary power supply 18 by increasing an output voltage V1 of the main power supply 17 so as to apply the increased output voltage to the auxiliary power supply 18. The power supply management section 30 performs abnormality determination for determining that an output destination of the power supply device 20 causes an abnormality when the amount of decrease per unit time of an output voltage V2 of the auxiliary power supply 18 exceeds the amount of decrease for a predetermined time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
