PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode or the like being excellent in etching characteristics which can surely increase an expanded surface rate and increase further electrostatic capacitance by forming etch pits in a high density and uniformly, and etching, from the etch pits as an origin, deeply and so as to hardly occur coupling in a tunnel.

SOLUTION: An anodic oxide film 3 is formed on a surface of the aluminum material 1, and a plurality of fine concave parts 6 which have average size of 0.01 to 10 μm by a circle equivalent diameter and in which the anodic oxide film thinner than a periphery remains at a bottom part or an aluminum base is exposed, are formed in a dispersion state.
