LITHIUM ION SECONDARY BATTERY, AND BATTERY PACK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery achieving a high-speed charge and discharge, and a battery pack using the same.

SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery comprises at least a positive electrode plate comprising a positive electrode active material layer on a positive electrode collector, a negative electrode plate comprising a negative electrode active material layer on a negative electrode collector, a separator between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, and an electrolyte containing a nonaqueous solvent. The positive electrode active material layer contains positive electrode active material particles and a metallic oxide. The positive electrode collector and the positive electrode active material particles are bound together by the metallic oxide, and the positive electrode active material particles are bound together by the metallic oxide. The negative electrode active material layer contains a lithium-titanium composite oxide.
