NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery improved in durability characteristics such as cycle and storage characteristics; a nonaqueous electrolyte suitable for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery; and a negative electrode active material.

SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt and a nonaqueous solvent dissolving the lithium salt; and a negative electrode and a positive electrode that can absorb and desorb lithium ions. The negative electrode contains a negative electrode active material comprising graphite having an aspect ratio of 0.05 or more and 20 or less, and the nonaqueous electrolyte contains a compound represented by the following general formula (1).
