<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material having few microcrack generation during heat and moist cycling. <P>SOLUTION: In one aspect, a preform contains: (a) a reinforcing fabric layer; and (b) a polyetherimide fiber incorporated into the reinforcing fabric layer as a stitch thread material. The content of the polyetherimide in the reinforcing fabric layer is about less than 10 wt.%. In another aspect, an uncured and a cured composite compositions include the preform.
