PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planetary gear speed reducer that can improve durability, and to provide an image forming device.

SOLUTION: The planetary gear speed reducer is configured to connect a second stage planetary gear mechanism 32 to the rear stage of a first stage planetary gear mechanism 31 to reduce the speed of rotary driving force from a motor M by the first stage planetary gear mechanism 31 and the second stage planetary gear mechanism 32 and transmit the force to a drum shaft 27 from an output shaft 20 provided in a second carrier 19. A center side outer diameter edge of a first carrier pin 25 is positioned inner side more than a position of outer diameter of a second sun gear 17.
