<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of correctly detecting a state where ink in an ink cartridge is used up. <P>SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 60 which can be loaded into a recorder 10 having a cartridge mounting section 40 provided with a first contact 44 and a third contact 45 comprises a cartridge case 61 internally provided with an ink chamber 90 for holding ink, a pyroelectric part 71 which outputs an electric signal, a heat conduction member 78 which transmits heat from a resistor to the ink and the pyroelectric part 71 via a sensor board 74, and a second contact 75 electrically connected with the first contact 44 and transmitting a signal from the pyroelectric part 71 to the recorder 10.
