<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intravenous safety needle assembly having a special rigid wing structure to prevent reuse and/or eliminate a needle-stick accident and to stabilize the safety needle assembly against the body of a patient. <P>SOLUTION: The safety needle device 10 includes an elongate housing 12 having a hub 14 movably mounted therein. A needle 16 extends distally from the hub 14 and a fluid conveying tube extends proximally from the hub. A dorsal part 30 is connected to the hub 14 and extends in a vertical direction relative to a longitudinal direction axis line of the elongate housing 12. A finger rest part 50 is operably connected to the hub 14 and outward positioned relative to the elongate housing 12 between the dorsal part 30 and the needle 16.
