<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a scrolling operation. <P>SOLUTION: A portion in a display area within an imaged document image is displayed on a display screen of a mobile phone (step 42). When a finger is moved in the upper, lower, left, or right direction on a touch panel formed on the display screen, the display area is also moved in the direction and scrolled (step 45, 48, 49, and 50). When the finger is moved away from the touch panel (YES in step 46), the display area is moved to the left end (reference position) of a text display area included in the document image (step 47).
