PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for estimating a channel are provided to obtain low complexity and high performance by using conversion about a pilot subcarrier and noise reduction. CONSTITUTION: An M-point noise reduction part(130) comprises a time domain conversion unit(140), a delay dispersion estimating unit(150), and a noise reduction unit(160), and a frequency domain transformation unit(170). The time domain conversion unit changes a pilot symbol applying initial channel estimation and a virtual pilot symbol of a virtual pilot insertion unit(120) into a time domain. The delay dispersion estimating unit estimates the delay dispersion of a converted time domain signal. The noise reduction unit reduces noises from the converted time domain signal. The multiple path information and estimated delay dispersion information of a channel is used for noise reduction. The noise reduction unit reduces the noises by using a mathematical formula. |
