<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amphoteric organic coagulant which is excellent in coagulation and dehydration and has a high COD reduction rate. <P>SOLUTION: The organic coagulant comprises: a mixture of a (co)polymer (A), which contains 5-50 mass% of a cationic monomer represented by general formula (1), and a (co)polymer (B) which contains 60-100 mass% of the same cationic monomer; wherein b/a≥2, wherein a represents the mass% of the cationic monomer in the copolymer (A), and b represents the mass% of the cationic monomer in the (co)polymer (B), and the ratio in the mixture of the copolymer (A) to the (co)polymer (B) is 1:9-9:1.
