PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical useful for preventing and/or treating osteoporosis that inhibits osteoclast differentiation and promotes osteoblast differentiation, and a screening method for the same.

SOLUTION: The preventive and/or therapeutic agent for osteoporosis comprises an L-amino acid transporter inhibitor. The screening method for a candidate substance for preventive and/or therapeutic agent for osteoporosis comprises a step of evaluating whether a subject substance can inhibit an L-amino acid transporter or not.
