<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communications system, a communications method, and a portable terminal that acquire information more easily and suppress consumption of memories. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system includes the portable terminal and a server connected to the portable terminal through a network. The server has a storage part which stores a data body including content data for reproduction on the portable terminal, and additional data. The portable terminal includes a communication part for server which accesses the server to acquire the data body and additional data; an additional data storage part which stores the additional data; a reproduction display part which reproduces the content data; and a communication part for terminal which communicates another communication terminal having acquired the additional data and acquires the additional data from the another communication terminal.
