<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which a transfer speed is limited in data transfer from a host device to storage devices such as an SSD and USB flash memory which are connected to the host device because there are a limit to the speed of an interface between the host device and the storage device and a limit to the writing and reading speeds of a storage medium included in the storage device. <P>SOLUTION: A data storage system compresses write data by using a data compression-capable driver included in a host device 2 and writes the compressed data to a storage part 13 included in an SSD1, thereby enabling an effective utilization of a transmission band of a connection path between the host device 2 and SSD1 and also enabling an effective utilization of the storage part 13 included in the SSD1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
