<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily create a desired printed matter for setting a function by effectively using a printed matter for setting a function created before. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus which can be communicated with an electronic pen includes at least: a printing unit which creates a printed matter for setting a function, on which a region for setting a function of the image forming apparatus itself is assigned, on paper on which a position detection mark for allowing the electronic pen to detect the position of its tip is printed; a storage unit which stores layout information, where each function is associated with positional information on the paper of each function, on each printed matter for setting a function created before in association with an ID of a user; and a control unit which specifies the layout information stored in association with the ID of a log-in user, when the user inputs the ID to log in and displays the specified layout information on a display unit in a selectable manner.
