<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape-variable element capable of favorably correcting color aberration and various aberrations. <P>SOLUTION: This shape-variable element comprises a plurality of optical materials and can change the shape of at least one surface. At least one of the plurality of optical materials constituting the shape-variable element satisfies the following expression, ¾θgF-(1.665×10<SP POS="POST">-7</SP>×νd<SP POS="POST">3</SP>+5.213×10<SP POS="POST">-5</SP>×νd<SP POS="POST">2</SP>-5.656×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>×νd+0.7278)¾>0.0272.
