<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser radar which can accurately measure a distance to an obstacle even when the obstacle is located close to the laser radar. <P>SOLUTION: A beam irradiation device includes: a laser light source 21 which emits laser light; a mirror actuator 23 which scans the laser light in a target area; a photodetector 33 which receives laser light reflected on the target area, and also outputs a signal according to an intensity of the laser light received; a scan LD drive circuit 44 which drives the laser light source 21; and a DSP 46 which controls the laser light source 21. The DSP 46 reduces the output from the laser light source 21 when the signal output from the photodetector 33 exceeds a predetermined threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
