PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner concentration sensor that accurately detects toner concentration in the event that wavelength shift occurs in light from a light source of a sensor.

SOLUTION: A toner concentration sensor 8 includes: a light source 51 that generates detection light; a beam splitter 53 that transmits a specific polarization component of the detection light; and a beam splitter 54 that transmits a specific polarization component of reflected light. The beam splitters 53, 54 each has a transmission wavelength band including a range of at least a wavelength of the detection light before wavelength shift to a wavelength of the detection light after wavelength shift through continuous use.
