<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated teller machine dealing with an abnormality by itself that has accidentally occurred in a device, thereby allowing automatic recovery to be performed without notification to its higher-level device for the abnormality that does not need the notification. <P>SOLUTION: An ATM 1 connecting with one or more peripheral devices 20 performs the following: reads and starts a start diagnosis program that diagnoses the start status of the peripheral devices 20 in response to an instruction to start the ATM 1; sets information indicating whether the start status of the peripheral devices 20 is abnormal, which is obtained as a result of execution of the start diagnosis program, and stores it in a memory 12; and by referring to the information stored in the memory 12, restarts the ATM 1 if there is a device that has been diagnosed as being abnormal by the start diagnosis program, or starts a transaction control program for controlling a transaction if all of the peripheral devices 20 have been diagnosed as being normal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
