<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic switch that prevents the breakage of a diode. <P>SOLUTION: An electromagnetic switch 1 includes a diode 29 electrically connected to an exciting coil 3 in parallel. The diode 29 includes lead wires 31 and 32 on both ends of a main body 30 in the longitudinal direction and is arranged in an electromagnetic switch 1 so that the longitudinal direction is along the movement direction of a movable iron core 5. Therefore, a load applied to the main body 30 of the diode 29 and the wires 31 and 32 is reduced according to the movement of the movable iron core 5 when impact is applied to the diode 29 in comparison with a case where the diode 29 is arranged so that the movement direction of the movable iron core 5 is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the diode 29, thereby preventing the breakage of the diode 29. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
