<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vehicle airbag system which can improve occupant protection performance when a vehicle rollover occurs, by a curtain airbag provided together with a side airbag. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle airbag system 10 includes: a side airbag 22 that is housed in a state of being folded up in a vehicle seat 24 and that deploys between an occupant seated in the vehicle seat 24 and a front side door 26 by receiving supply of gas when a side collision occurs; and the curtain airbag 12 that is housed in a state of being folded up in the upper edge part of door openings 11, 13 and that deploys in a curtain shape downward by receiving supply of gas when a side collision and a rollover occur. The curtain airbag 12 has a delay chamber 40 that deploys later than a main chamber 36 by receiving supply of gas from the main chamber 36 via a narrowed passage 38. The delay chamber 40 deploys with a lower end side below a belt line BL and in an area that overlaps with the deployment area of a side airbag 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
