<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device in which the follow-up properties of a rotary shaft of a worm gear to be tilted according to wear of gear teeth are enhanced to more stably keep an engaged state thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The base end 22a of the rotary shaft 22 of the worm gear is connected to the rotary shaft 21 of a motor via a coupling 24 for allowing the tilt of the rotary shaft 22 of the worm gear between them. Meanwhile, a first supporting member 31 which can support the front end 22b of the rotary shaft 22 of the worm gear freely rotatably and can be moved in the axial direction relatively to the rotary shaft 22 of the worm gear, is arranged at the front end 22b of the rotary shaft 22 of the worm gear. A second supporting member 32 turnably connected to the first supporting member 31 is arranged in a worm gear-housed chamber 17. A coil spring 34 as an energizing member for pressing the second supporting member 32 to tilt the rotary shaft 22 of the worm gear in such a direction that the worm gear approaches a wheel gear 13, is further arranged in the worm gear-housed chamber 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
