<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnesium alloy exhibiting a superior damping property and a high strength. <P>SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy consists of, assuming its entirety as 100 mass%, 0.6-5% Si, 0.05-0.7% Zn, and more than 0% but no more than 1% Mn, with the balance being Mg and inevitable impurities and/or a modifying element.
