PURPOSE: An LED backlight apparatus is provided to identically adjust each direct current flowing in a plurality of LED strings and to not include a circuit accompanying heat generation. CONSTITUTION: An inverter(202) changes DC voltage provided form a DC power supply(201) into AC voltage and supplies the AC voltage to transformers(203-205). The transformers boosts/ the AC voltage according to winding ratio and respectively supplies the boosted AC voltage to full wave rectifier circuits(206-208). The full wave rectifier circuits full-wave-rectify the boosted AC voltage which is inputted from the transformers. A plurality of smoothing circuits(C1-C3) outputs a direct current. A plurality of LED strings(209-211) is respectively connected to output terminals of a plurality of smoothing circuits.
