PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to minimize power consumed in compressors by allowing refrigerants compressed through first and second compressors to be re-inhaled to the first compressor and re-compressed by the first compressor. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises multiple compressors(2,8), a first heat exchanger(10), first and second expansion valves(40,42), and a second heat exchanger(12). The first expansion valve expands refrigerants condensed from the first heat exchanger. The second expansion valve expands the refrigerants passing through the first expansion valve. The refrigerants passing through the second expansion valve is evaporated in the second heat exchanger. A part of the refrigerants passing through the first expansion valve passes through the second expansion valve and the second heat exchanger and flows into one of the compressors, and the other part of the refrigerants passing through the first expansion valve flow into the other one of the compressors.
