<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge a medium while restraining the medium from being abraded. <P>SOLUTION: A paper sheet P is curled to such a direction that the paper sheet is wound around a pressurizing member 152 in a nip area (a fixing nip) to be formed by arranging a heating member 151 and the pressurizing member 152 opposed to each other. The paper sheet P is curled again to the direction, which is opposite to that when the paper sheet P is curled in the nip area, in an area from the fixing nip to a contact member 181. The paper sheet P is further curled to the direction, which is opposite to that when the paper sheet P is curled in the area from the fixing nip to the contact member 181, in an area from the contact member 181 to another nip area (a discharge nip) to be formed by arranging a first roll 161 and a second roll 162 to be opposed to each other.
