<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, a terminal device, a server device, a navigation method and a program, capable of performing an appropriate matching process by using map data for drawing, while adequately keeping a communication volume. <P>SOLUTION: This invention has the following configuration: the map data are stored for every map hierarchy in a server device; the map hierarchy of requested map data is determined in a terminal device based on the map hierarchy of the map data for being displayed on a display section and the map hierarchy for matching; a map request which at least specifies the determined map hierarchy is transmitted to the server device; the map request which at least specifies the map hierarchy, to be transmitted from the terminal device, is received in the server device; the map data of the map hierarchy satisfying the map request is acquired; the acquired map data are transmitted to the terminal device; and the map data to be transmitted from the server device are received in the terminal device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
