<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery showing excellent output-input characteristics and long-term battery characteristics even under high-temperature environments, and a battery pack. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material layer constituting a positive electrode plate contains positive electrode active material particles and a first binder comprising a metallic oxide, and a negative electrode active material layer constituting a negative electrode plate contains negative electrode active material particles and a second binder comprising a metal or a metallic oxide. The positive electrode active material particles and a positive electrode collector, and the positive electrode active material particles are bound together by the first binder, and the negative electrode active material particles and a negative electrode collector, and the negative electrode active material particles are bound together by the second binder.
