<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and imaging method capable of reading image signals at effective timings and updating displaying without needlessly increasing the read-out times of the image signals from an imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: Image signals are read from an imaging device during long exposure (S9). The read image signals are cumulatively added so as to generate an addition image (S13). After the generation of the addition image, an interpolation image is generated based on the addition image till the succeeding read-out of an image signal (S17).
