<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image composition apparatus that allows a worker to easily select a material image suitable for composition when combining, on a three-dimensional image, a material image that is another three-dimensional image. <P>SOLUTION: A three-dimensional image 13a for a background is displayed on an image composition area selection screen G4, and when any position in the three-dimensional image 13a is designated by a user, parallax at the designated position is derived. Then, material images with parallax greater than the parallax at the designated position in the three-dimensional image 13a are retrieved as selection candidates from a memory storing plural material images each of which is to be three-dimensionally viewed as a specific object.
