<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can make a recorder detect the remaining amount of ink at a low cost with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The ink cartridge is provided with a heat conduction member which comes into thermal contact with ink housed in the cartridge case, an electric resistor which applies heat to the heat conduction member, and a pyroelectric part 71 which produces an output when heat is transmitted thereto. The pyroelectric part 71 is provided with a piezoelectric material and a pair of electrodes sandwiching the piezoelectric material, and is mounted on a sensor board 74. A recess 100 is provided in the abutting surface 74B, i.e. the rear surface of a mounting surface where the pyroelectric part 71 is mounted.
