PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform a demodulation process.

SOLUTION: A system information decoding part 32 decodes a group of system information symbols sequentially from signals having undergone an equalization process performed by a system information equalization part 31. A transmission parameter acquisition part 52 acquires transmission parameters which are used in the demodulation process and stored in a transmission parameter storage part 51. A transmission parameter comparison part 53 compares the transmission parameters used in the acquired demodulation process with the sequentially decoded transmission parameters by the system information decoding part 32. A demodulation control part 33 controls a demodulation part 35 and an error correction part 36 so that the demodulation process can be performed based on newly decoded transmission parameters if the acquired transmission parameters used in the demodulation process signal are different from the sequentially decoded transmission parameters. This invention can be applied to a reception apparatus compliant with the DTMB standard that is a terrestrial digital broadcasting standard, for example.
